Josh Pitts is a data scientist and software engineer for MIMES-MIDAS. He has worked as an engineer and founder at several startups, and he has extensive experience in taking large-scale data models (“big data”) and integrating with consumer-facing products. His technical expertise with open source technologies is key to our product dissemination and adoption and is instrumental in transitioning our model design framework to help address various stakeholder interests and concerns (fisheries, environmental conservation, NGOs).
